Website History
I started web and graphics designing when I was eleven or twelve years old. Like many others, I started off on Neopets and learned basic HTML and CSS by changing my user profile, shop, and pet pages. After gaining some experience with coding and such, I wanted to start making my own graphics - and so I did. My first graphics were all made on Paint, and were pretty bad quality because of the jagged edges on text and stuff. There were also issues with file sizes and the fact that I saved everything with bitmap extensions.
As I got a little better with using Paint and making simple graphics such as buttons, banners, and logos, I made my first website with my sister which we named ~*Angelic Designs~* which was hosted on a site called gURL Pages. This website only lasted one month.
Later, I got better at web and graphics design so I made my first real website - The Wired, which I named after my favorite anime at the time: Serial Experiments Lain. I kept that site going for about a year and then got bored of web design. A month after quitting, I wanted to start a new site - Crazed. This is when I started making "cute" layouts, adoptables, etc. The site name sounded weird so I re-named it br0ken trust (the name says it all). Br0ken Trust was an emo site name and I grew out of that stage in my life of feeling...blah. So, I re-named the website once again to Evil Muffin and I stuck with that name.
Later, my sister and I convinced our parents to get us our very own domain. And so, Dizzied.org was born. The name was very unoriginal, it was named after a website my sister and I adored, which was closed a little while before we registered this domain name. A year later, due to unreliable hosts, we lost the domain - we could not get in contact with the host we had and because of this, our parents decided not to get anymore domains.
I opened a new site on my own, since my sister stopped web designing and making graphics a little bit after we opened Dizzied.org, and named it dizzied.co.nr, which was hosted on a free-server and registered by freedomain.co.nr and I kept it going for a while.
After a year of nagging, I convinced my mom to get me my own domain again! So, on January 22, 2006, I opened embrace-me.org (EMO) - named after an old friend's website and one of my cousin's old favorite phrases, "Embrace me, Mommy!" I closed and opened that site many times but at around November 2008, I grew tired of it and had a "Closed" or "This domain is being parked" sign on it for a very, very, very long time. I never actually wanted to "quit" web design but I had no money to have it hosted anymore and I was busy with school and real life stuff.
I felt like I lost a part of me when I stopped web designing, after all, I love it! That, and my domain name registration didn't expire for Embrace Me until February 2011. Because of this, I found a host that would host my domain for free (but there were so many problems). Not too long after I revived Embrace Me, my sister won her own domain name from a contest. So, we looked for a new host with the money we saved up. We searched for a cheap, reliable web host and FatCow caught our eyes. With them, they offered cheap hosting and a free domain name if you registered with them. So, I came up with a new site name, Pandasaur!, and that is what we registered.
FatCow began running slowly and our pages started taking a long time to load so we started looking for new hosts again. We stumbled upon RigRag and they seemed pretty good - their Reseller hosting was cheap and you could also register a new domain name for free. We signed up and registered what we made our web hosting site, Love-Today.Net - named after one of our favorite songs by Mika.
RigRag has its ups and downs but things are starting to get a little better. Things got so much better that I ended up registering another reseller account with RigRag using my other website, pandasaur.net. I was loving it there but I guess I got a little too comfortable. One day, RigRag suddenly decided to close - and I was forced to find a new host.
I found Rerun Hosting, which seemed very good and decided to switch over. After finally moving and settling in, they decided to merge with another hosting company, Rewind Host. I lost a few files/updates and so did my hostees. Not too long after that, it was time for them to have a Server upgrade and again, my site experienced a lot of downtime and rerolls. I got annoyed by them and decided to find another host...again.
I've always heard about Bubble Hosting and a few sites that I love and admire are hosted there. So, I made an application and got accepted! Good news for me is, I found a great host at no cost! So here I am now :)
